Face Yoga is making a big impact on long-held beliefs women have about ageing. You can find blog posts written about it on the internet, and it is being discussed in magazines and newspaper articles.

Just like exercise is the way to having a toned body, the secret to a toned and sculpted face is in committing to consistently doing Face Yoga. The challenge is in breaking unconscious habits, and reframing your mindset. Most people think about a line-free face, and their thoughts immediately jump to skincare products. Firming creams, serums, masks, moisturizers etc.

According to recent research, the $250 billion global anti-ageing market is expected to reach $331.41 billion by 2021. The average American woman spends $8 a day on her face, or up to $300,000 in her lifetime according to a recent survey by beauty retailer Skin Store. Facial rejuvenation procedures continue to be the most popular non-invasive cosmetic procedures according to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons which gave more than 7 million Botox injections in 2016.

There are no miracle creams, silver bullets or quick fixes. Advertisers sell us the promise of younger-looking skin. The fact is that the facial skin is attached to the facial muscles so as your muscles start to sag they bring your face down. We need to lift the facial muscles to lift up the skin.

The skincare market contains an ever-growing supply of some very sophisticated and advanced skincare preparations, that are luxurious and aspirational but they cannot lift the facial muscles.

Performing facial exercises, consistently and correctly, will with time, tone the facial contours. Be aware though, that success can be as simple as the smallest details, it is crucial to perform the exercises correctly for your face, because no two faces are identical, and to understand there are small nuances that you will receive by attending a class that you will not learn by watching a video or reading a blog post.

If you prefer to take a holistic and empowered approach to ageing, Face Yoga is the perfect alternative to chemical or invasive procedures. When performed correctly and consistently, Face Yoga has the power to give you amazing results, but you need to be mindful of what you are doing when you practice. And you need to become aware of the expressions you are consistently making throughout the day.
